Telecommunications Equipment Purchase Program (TEPP)

TEPP requires an applicant be a Wisconsin resident who is deaf/ hard of hearing or has difficulties with mobility and needs special equipment to use the telephone in the home or when traveling. Equipment such as a TTY, amplified telephone, or hands free telephone are examples of phone equipment TEPP allows. There is no age or income limit. for TEPP applicants. The TEPP voucher is available to an applicant once every three years. TEPP voucher amounts are based on category of disability.
TEPP is one of several different programs paid for by the Wisconsin Universal Service Fund (USF) established by the Public Service Commission. Money collected from Wisconsin telephone service providers goes into the USF.
Options has a wide array of amplified telephones, signaling systems and hands free telephones for individuals to try. Options staff can assist in completing the TEPP application and ordering the identified equipment.
