UPCOMING SPORTS EVENTS

 The Youth Adaptive Sports Association (Y.A.S.A.) is sponsoring the following sport and recreation events for youth with physical disabilities ages 6 through 18.  Y.A.S.A. was formed over one year ago to develop and promote sports and recreation activities for youth with physical disabilities. 

KICKBALL
This six week session is held at the YMCA Downtown, 235 N Jefferson Street, in Green Bay.  These sessions begin Saturday April 16th and run on consecutive Saturdays through May 21st.  The time is 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM.  Pre-Registration is required.  Cost is $10.00 pre-registration and $15.00 at the door.  Family and friends are welcome at no charge.  The YMCA – Green Bay is subsidizing this program.

SPORTS DAY
This is a wonderful opportunity the try the following sports as part of a series of demonstrations.   

Sunday April 24th

  • Sitting Volleyball – Learn the exciting sport of sitting volleyball from Penny Ricker, US Women’s Olympic Sitting Volleyball Team Member Dance – Explore the world of dance with trained dance specialists

  • Over the Line – Have fun playing softball

  • Kickball and Wheelchair soccer – Enjoy the thrill of scoring

  • Golf – Try your skill at putting

Representatives from the following organizations will be available to answer questions. 

  • Options for Independent Living

  • Cerebral Palsy Inc.

  • Green Bay Home Medical

  • Exceptional Equestrians & Country Kids

  • Challenge the Outdoors

  • National Seating and Mobility

  • Bass Fishing

  • And more

This event is free.  Open the youth ages 6 – 18 with Physical Disabilities and their Families.

Registration is appreciated but not required.

HORSEBACK RIDING  

Exceptional Equestrians in DePere is offering an opportunity for free horseback riding on June 1st from 3:30 PM to 4:45 PM.  Pre-Registration is required.  To register, call Donna or Lisa at Exceptional Equestrians at 339-0700.
