Help Support Options
Creating Options Campaign
In the fall of 2006, Options Board of Directors embarked upon creating an Endowment Fund to keep the facility state-of-the-art. Options moved into its new facility in June 1999. Since that time the development of new technologies and new ways of equipping and modifying homes and offices have come with increasing frequency. To keep up with these developments on an on-going basis Options needs an endowment that will generate additional income for this purpose. Options can no longer budget sufficiently to meet these costs without a permanent source of income for this purpose.
The Goal
The Goal of the Creating Options Campaign is $2,200,000.
The Purpose
There is a twofold purpose of the Campaign.
- To raise $2 million for an endowment fund to strengthen and sustain Options for Independent Living
- To raise $200,000 for a “Needs Now” Fund for the following current needs:
- Assistive Technology - To update technology in model kitchen, bedroom and bathrooms as well as conference room and staff offices. In addition, update AT in Equipment “Try-out” and “loan” programs with adapted telephones for hard-of-hearing, vision aides, wheelchairs and various mobility devices, adapted software and peripheral devices for computers, and more.
- Capital Improvements - To resurface parking area and make improvements to the building as necessary.
Community volunteers began working on behalf of Options approaching businesses, foundations, community leaders, and friends of Options. To date, the Creating Options Campaign has raised over $1.5 million to address the issues listed above. We want to thank all those individuals for all their efforts.
